A Racine Unified School District substitute teacher is accused of inappropriately touching, texting and sending photos to female students. Justin Beaton was charged Tuesday with two counts of sexual assault of a student, two counts of child enticement and exposing a child to harmful material.
According to the criminal complaint, Beaton sent text messages to two female Horlick High School students in January and February that were described as sexual in nature. The students met with Beaton on separate occasions, and both said he inappropriately touched them while in his car. According to a criminal complaint, he traveled to Quarry Park and touched a year-old student inappropriately, "at one point trying to pull down her pants which she immediately pulled back up. Beaton's attorney Patrick Cafferty said the charges would be misdemeanors if he hadn't been a teacher.
