Rich Benefactor refers to the club's chairperson. Clubs with such rich chairpersons formerly 'chairmen' at the helm stand a much better chance of receiving budget injections from time to time, depending on the occasion.
A Rich Benefactor chairperson doesn't guarantee that you'll always have ridiculous amounts of money to spend on transfers. You might as well manage a rich benefactor club and get close to zero transfer budget.
However, they will supply more money than the average chairperson if needed or to reward your good performance. Foreground - Will throw money at the club to spend until he leaves. Background - Will spend enough to make them a force in their current league but if they go up a level or two it would no longer apply.
