The legions of New Reno prostitutes are a sad reminder of how vice and exploitation of women remain profitable through the ages. Especially if the largest post-apocalyptic state, the NCR , bans prostitution. The prostitutes themselves are usually dressed in tattered clothes, draped seductively around their bodies, sometimes barely holding their endowment. They also use a variety of methods to provide themselves with a pleasant scent, like flowers though for some, like the Chosen One , they may smell like mother.
However, when one looks upon their face, the truth comes out. A seductive wink is just as likely as seeing eyes like blown fuses or an appraising look with a jeweler's skill, no less. Some prostitutes may even look as if they kill and cannibalize their mates. Within the game, they provide comic relief with over lines dialogue that is often snarky, sarcastic, and breaks the fourth wall. New Reno prostitutes appear only in Fallout 2. These characters have some of the most concentrated amount of cultural references in Fallout 2.
