Is prostitution a problem in greensboro asking because I was riding down randleman rd last night, and I think I saw one I'm from small town so this was a shock to me. I'm sure there are prostitutes, but I haven't seen them. At least I don't think I have.
Tart Green Apple. I know where they hang in Winston.. You'll be disappointed if your idea of prostitution is what you've seen in movies or on HBO specials. It's nothing like that in most areas of the Triad. The areas where you might find 2 or more women on a corner, etc.
Primarily, what one sees in our cities as far as "street-walking" is concerned is the occasional hooker hanging on a block or perhaps walking as if she's actually going somewhere. For the most part, we have escorts here call and meet hookers. They're usually much more expensive and not necessarily cleaner than girls from the street they're typically erotic dancers who turn tricks on the side.
We had massage parlors, as well, until a few years ago when the city began requiring a massage therapy license in order to operate such businesses. And then, there's always the internet, which has created a new culture of prostitution that's prevalent everywhere.
High Point has perhaps the highest concentration, followed by Winston and then Greensboro, but I'm not sure that the police depts' records would support that, due to varied emphases on anti-prostitution enforcement between cities. Many of the housing projects around here might have the greatest density of street-walking girls at any given time, but many girls prefer not to work where they live.
