They earned it just as much as I did for dealing with all my life tapping. Good for you. There is no argument to be made that the ring is a better upgrade for most healers than the neck. Personal desire is not an argument. This has been a thing since phase 4 lol. How does it prevent you from enjoying that? This is generally agreed upon? Neck is Neck is 4. Ring is Every piece for a caster, save for some trinkets and weapons, are going to small, barely noticeable DPS increases. Sure, get some Smite gear.
That, or a DPS ring that you plan to use while soloing and Hareem plans to use on a small handful of the raid content. That is the meta, actually.
The upgrade amount is minor for other classes, varying. At the expense of DPS mains, sure. But in many smaller guilds your raid team is what it is. Not much room for adjustment with the people you have. Thats usually what happens instead. A lot of fights on my druid where I just starfire.
I should really probably just respec balance with how often that is the case, but I prefer Resto for PVP, and there are still fights where my raw healing is useful. I agree with that but most servers are barely a few weeks into AQ40 gates opening. The same philosophy that funnels the ring to casters first instead of healers.
The dps upgrade is more valuable in this rregard. Even on a fight like Loatheb where you will be smite spamming most of the time that MP5 would be more beneficial to the RAID so you have more healing potential during the heal phases.
