We bring in teachers and guest artists from around the country who train and teach in various styles for students to be proficient and knowledgeable in.
Students are invited to participate in conferences such as IABD, International Association of Blacks in Dance to train and audition with different choreographers and master teachers. Students take seasonal field trips to see live performances of various dance companies from around the world Pacific Northwest Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Philadanco! We set students up with professional photos and facilitate resume building. If you have auditioned this season and or had a conference with the Artistic Director, stating your level placement for the season, you can register online or call for assistance to get enrolled today.
Limited space available. Before enrolling, dancers and parents should carefully consider this commitment in light of academic and other activities. Dancers who withdraw from the program mid-semester are responsible for the remaining tuition and fees for the season. After the start of the season September 13th , there are no tuition refunds.
Holidays have been taken into account. Steps PDX offers a limited number of financial and merit scholarships. Dancers requesting scholarship assistance must attend the program in its entirety. We understand the need to take significant measures to protect the health and safety of our dancers, families, artistic staff, and community.
In-Studio classes are limited in size due to state mandates and are filled on a first-come first-served basis. Once we reach a capacity of 15 dancers per class, you will be placed on our waitlist in the order we receive. Steps Pdx reserves the right to cancel classes if there are changes to the pandemic or the state-mandated regulations. All surfaces are sanitized throughout the day in between classes and at the end of the day.
