I learned first hand about the benefits of massage while recovering from Spinal and Soft tissue damage I received from a work injury. From these injuries,I ended up with an eight year struggle with Opioid pain medications.
Finally I decided that for me to get better I had to do it. Eventually I was able to get off of the pills but still needed a way to deal with my pain issues. Since a lot of my pain was from Soft tissue issues I looked to massage, and never looked back. Because of these injuries I feel I can relate to many problems that clients are having, both physical and emotional.
I attempt to use techniques that I feel will help the individual client so each visit might not be the same as the previous session. I try to answer clients questions to the best of my abilities, and will gladly research questions to find answers. One way I can help my clients is by continuing my education and becoming more knowledgable using that knowledge to help the client. My experience with massage shows that it certainly helps with current aches and pains.
However; I believe receiving ongoing massage therapy helps promote a healthier lifestyle and a greater sense of well being, something that we can all benefit from.
Background and training. I am currently working for certification in Myo-fascial Release and look forward to volunteering at more athletic events in the future.
