The killer, French national Larossi Abballa, kept a list filled with other targets — including rappers, journalists, public officials and other police officers, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said Tuesday.
He murdered the woman, but the child was unharmed. During a three-hour standoff, Abballa streamed himself on Facebook Live. Speaking calmly for 12 minutes, and switching between French and Arabic, he pledged allegiance to ISIS and bluntly confessed to his carnage. Abballa, 25, had been sentenced in to three years in prison for recruiting jihadist fighters in Pakistan, officials said.
The account disappeared after his stream, and Facebook said it is working with authorities on the case. Three people — aged 27, 29 and 44 — were arrested Tuesday as part of the probe into the slaughter, officials said. Their possible involvement was not revealed.
