A man and a juvenile are facing several charges after an armed robbery, according to officials with the Winston-Salem Police Department. On Thursday, patrol officers said they responded to an armed robbery in the block of Anson Street. Harrell and Melton then got one of the guns and robbed the victims of the other two.
Officials said the two then left in a Dodge. Officers found the suspect vehicle in the block of Claremont Avenue and set up surveillance on the vehicle. Officials said they saw Harrell and Melton left the apartment they were in and got in the Dodge. After this, the two were arrested. Officers said they found marijuana on Harrell at the time of the arrest, and the three guns were found in a nearby apartment.
Melton was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and assault by pointing a gun.
