Having trouble posting or changing forum settings? The Cyclekart Club. Posted by Intrepid Wheelwoman. Intrepid Wheelwoman Anne Welborn. Paeroa, Hauraki District, New Zealand. Hello everyone.
This is my first post as a new member, I'm from New Zealand, recently retired and I've been keen on things with wheels on for most of my life. I've always liked cyclecars so now that my time is mostly my own I want to build one.
French cyclecars are a favourite of mine and the Colombe in particular has taken my fancy. After the Colombe went out of production and the factory doors were closed the design was taken up by Villard which is why I have both makes in the subject line. Villards were larger than the earlier Colombe and both makes had a reasonably successful racing history.
I'm in no great rush over this project as I enjoy making things and it's my intention to use as much recycled scavenged parts and materials as possible. Was this post helpful or interesting? Sponsored Links. Bridport, dorset, UK. Anne, You may find when you mock this up a problem common to most three wheelers - a short bonnet presumably you use the correct English term down there in NZ?!!
From the picture the cars look quite tall so you may be able to fit in using a sit-up and driving beg position. However, combined with the three wheel layout the higher centre of gravity may make this design unstable in use? Best of luck - first woman on this forum? Hello John, thanks for the welcome; - yes we do use the correct names for parts of a motor car here in New Zealand From old photos Colombe cyclecars in standard condition seem to have an upright seating position.
