A busy career in secondary education and management was followed by two fulfilling years at BP Exploration. Fourteen years were then spent in Scottish Government, working with educationalists. In more recent years, Alan has enjoyed working for the Dubai and UAE governments, again in the field of education. With two daughters and four grand-daughters he was married at age 14 , Alan is now in semi-retirement.
