Palace had an end of season party there one year and I did pull a bird who thought I was David Payne, one of our players at the time.
Preferred the streatham Locarno tbh, the bird there weren't so fussy!!! And the Stork Club in the afternoons,always a good place to pull a mummy. They were always in their 40s and 50s knew what they wanted with no strings attached. I remember the Orchid, but in the early 60's just down the road I recall was a coffee bar called The Olive Tree. Me and my mate Roger had a a bit of a blue there once, removing an unsavoury character for the local proprietor before he wrecked the joint.
