A twist looms over the castaways' heads in a pivotal immunity challenge to determine who takes power on the tenth episode of Survivor: Trial by Combat. Immunity Challenge: When it Rains Castaways must stand on a perch with one arm raised.
That arm is attached to a large bucket of water overhead. If a castaway drops their arm, or falls off their perch, they are eliminated. To make it more interesting, Fletcher will offer food items to tempt the castaways to drop. The last castaway left standing wins immunity.
Winner: TBD. Dramatic music plays as the show opens to a shot of the moon, before the camera quickly pans down to show the final nine castaways returning from Jason's blindside at Tribal Council. The tension is clear in the air, as various glances are exchanged between many people, specifically Ashlea, Sally, Sarah, Destiny, Elias, Elissa, and Alli.
However, it is eerily silent as the tribe members all stand around the unlit fire pit, all seemingly waiting for someone else to speak first. Richard takes it upon himself to work on starting the fire, crouching down at the pit, the click of the machete hitting the flint being the only sound among the waves crashing on the shore. The camera then pans to Alli, who scratches at her nose, shivering in the cold night air.
Casting one more longing and nervous glance towards Sarah, Alli quickly averts her eyes when Sarah looks her way. The camera then pans to Elissa, who sighs. Elissa : Alright, I'll be the one to break the silence. Are we going to stand here all night, or are we going to discuss things? Everyone looks around at each other, still nobody wants to step up to speak, before Sarah breaks. Elias : Why should we believe you? I know for certain, and Sarah does too, that you were the one who threw out Jason's name to the cross-tribal alliance, and Wesley's name to the Kalasag alliance.
