I'm just about to submit my application for grad school at CSU and my husband, who is from the Western Slope, is more thrilled about it than I am, but I'm very concerned about the cost of living in Fort Collins, and I'm worried that he'll want to go even though we'll be strapped for cash. Austin is an expensive place to live, rent-wise, but we bought a 3b,2b house on the fringes, and so we don't quite feel it as much. Also, schools were never an issue because I could put our kids in the district where I work.
We are cold weather people, and so that's another reason why the idea of moving to Colorado is so compelling. I guess I'm looking for help identifying areas that are similar to what I have now. It's important to my husband that the kids grow up in a diversity. I'm willing to commute to get this, but I don't know the area at all. It has to have at least 2 bed, and 2 bathrooms.
Is this completely impossible? Thanks for your help. Sorry if this seems financially laughable, but we really do want to move to Colorado for the program, the weather, my health, and to be nearer to my husband's family.
NW Crow. What kind? Neighbors with meat packing employees and their families? For diversity of university folk some color , stay close to FC. Timnath, Windsor, west Greeley will have some current university folk too, maybe more staff and ex-university than student. Greeley more hispanic and diversity within that broad label and more as you get further from FC. Handle more rural feel school districts?
