Hi there, We are looking at volunteering with AVI as a family. I have been unable to find any information online about the availability of housing for families in Honiara?? Does anyone have any first hand experience of finding somewhere to live?? We will be on a minimal budget with AVI living allowance. We are happy to rough it a little bit so long as we are safe!! Cheers Beth. There is a few real estates in Honiara , they have rental properties for every budget, nice places that are island looking on the outside and modern , clean inside.
I would rethink moving there, my experience there was insane and extreme. But there is more places than you think for rent there for families.
Beth, there is a few real estate agencies in Honiara, they will let you know what is available and when you are there take you around for you to have a look at each house. I was living in Honiara and just left 4 weeks ago. There is a few houses available in each price range. A lot of the local stay at King Solomon. Hotel as they have apartment for long term as well.
