I think that's rather a silly presumption to make. As much as Khyron hates and dismisses free on-line dating services, I think they can be useful as a gauge of the people in your age-peer group. And the adage against dating from place of employment still holds true. If one is new in town, why not use free on-line dating services; it isn't like you are forced to actually accept a coffee meeting with anyone are you?

Online dating may not be for everyone but it works for many. The only way I would have met my SO is online. I have had a history of dating online going back to I only met 'J' in Obviously there were some failures Which means what? Online dating is a non-starter?
How many of us struck gold with 'the one' first time out, when meeting the 'conventional' ways? What percentage of Americans are still married to the first person they married? Online is simply another way of connecting. Because of the relative 'ease' with which one can dip ones toes into the online dating pool there are probably a higher percentage of what a friend calls "MCP's" online.
