I am one of the luckiest person on the planet today because if not for the programme my education would have stopped at Standard 6. I want to urge all present and aspiring DLC students not to relent in their efforts to seek education. Learning was smooth and the environment was a safe haven.
All these were possible because DLC taught me to balance and combine study and work. It has broadened my horizon and knowledge base. A lot of factors contributed to my success from encouragements from my principal where I worked to me calculating my cumulative grade point average to collecting my materials on time and studying well ahead of class to setting over questions for myself on each course.
I want to encourage DLC students to monitor their scored and grades at every level and read ahead of class. In L I launched the first DLC Facebook page for students to socialize, exchange information, share ideas and meet for educational purposes.
I was a registered nurse as at the time I gained admission and I must confess that the most challenging aspect of the whole issue was combining education and work.
But then the lectures that taught us contributed to my performance and success, they inspired and motivated me to start scoring high grades from my first year and build on whatever foundation I have laid till I graduate.
