The first "small world connection" we made was through mutual friends from high school which formed our now college friend group. The first time I met Janel was at the Harris food hall. I thought she was cute, obviously. We started getting to know each other and I thought she was pretty cool. The first time I noticed Chandler we were walking home from my 18th birthday celebration near the Italian Garden.
I thought he was really cute and wanted to get to know him. This is one of the few times you'll see us wear a Spurs jersey over one of our beloved Houston teams. We spent the night getting to know each other over a few games of billiards, which started our love for playing games together.
In the Spring of Sophomore year, we officially started dating. Chandler asked me to be his girlfriend on the bus to Sixth Street surrounded by our friends.
I of course said yes! This was the beginning of many movie dates, Greek events, and hiking trips around San Marcos. In our Junior year, we received our Texas State rings together surrounded by our families. Our Senior year was filled with many nights at the Square, our favorite bars being Veranda and Mayloo's. One of the last traditions we got to do at Texas State was jumping into the river together on our graduation day with our closest friends.
After graduation, we moved back to Houston. Chandler began working at the dealership and Janel began her career in Human Resources. Eventually, in October of , we moved into our first home together and brought home our sweet, silly Stella, a yellow lab.
