There are still a self entitled few who are stupidly riding at Fight and posting their GPS data. These are the people we will have to thank for fucking our chance of a summer. No real ban on cycling here on the rock, but those do go head out solo or tiny groups with distance between. However, the snow is super soft now so the riding is not good anyway. Crazy times. Same here in NB. Selfishness will ruin it for the rest of us. We all want to ride but these rules are in place for a reason.
Forgot to mention that yesterday while I was on the BLT the Popo were leaving tickets for those whom are still deciding to drive to trail heads for their activities. People gonna learn the hard way.
Just going for a rip was he bud. Last weekend, I did two solo 55km road rides around Sambro and Hammonds Plains. Notification of park closure is now up on Facebook. This leaves open several areas for mountain biking, although none are near as good as Hillsborough. Are city parks open? Yes, parks and trails in the city remain open. Residents are reminded to practice social distancing while enjoying them. However, play structures at municipal playgrounds and facilities are closed.
Also, benches, garbage cans, etc. Outdoor facilities like the sliding hill at Rotary Park, playgrounds and the refrigerated skating oval are closed in order to follow the recommendations on avoiding gatherings.
Trails remain accessible. However users have to respect social distancing of 6 feet 2 metres. The British are coming! No but seriously, the lockdown is coming. Google Data is interesting, but I wonder what the sample size is? How many people have Location Services enabled vs disabled? I wondered about that too. Those are months when people tend to hibernate not to mention there could have been blizzards or ice storms on any of those days.
