On December 31, , Blanche and James H. Garland were blessed with their only child, Josephine Marrietta. Our Blessed Father saw that she tiring, so on January 17, , He brought her home as her work on this earth was complete. Josephine was raised in Charlottesville Virginia. At birth, she was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
As well, she received her formal education in the local school system, graduating from Jackson P. Burley High School. Josephine extended her educational studies, obtaining graduate degrees from Hampton University and Clark Atlanta University. Josephine's career spanned employment in the fields of Nursing, Social Work and Teaching. Josephine, fondly called Jus or Jo, was deeply rooted in her faith. During her travels, she always found a church home. Jus' faith endowed her with a warm personality.
She met no strangers. Jus was never too tired to lend a helping hand or give a pat on the back. Her spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
