My only caveats with this hotel would be 1 the service from the attached restaurant 2 the maid service and 3 the television. I don't think she understood what we were asking, but rather than try to help or understand, she simply said "no" and walked away. We were shocked. Secondly, we put a Do Not Disturb sign on our door for the four night, five days we were here.
On the fourth day, we were in our room and heard a banging at the door. It was the maid and she kept banging until we let her in and she started cleaning! Finally, we had issues with the movies on the TV that front desk couldn't help with and said was broken.
Tons of free movies to watch and none could be played. I can't say enough good things about Hotel Gavarni, truly.
This was my second time in Paris and when I travel I almost always stay in a hostel because I'm barely in the room and have a tight budget - but this time I decided to stay in a hotel since I was travelling with a friend.
I wanted something close to the Eiffel Tower since that's our main attraction and we'll likely return there everyday anyway. It's about one block away form the Trocadero, you walk up a small hill and then through a tiny round about and then the street is on the right.
