I have a "job interview" at a strip joint on thursday audition I guess and I am nervous about going since I have never done it before gone all nude, I have participated in pole competitions sucessfully in the past and loved being on stage.
I told a good friend and fellow pole dancer about it and she strongly adviced me NOT to go because strip joints are shady places and she fears for my safety. Is there still cause for concern? My friend basically said that strippers often get pushed into prostitution, get grouped etc⦠Is this true? I know it's hard to answer this question because there is a range of clubs from super dodgy to the more polished kind, but how common is it? I consider myself a strong person, but perhaps I am overestimating my ability?
As I said I love being on stage when doing pole dance, but it's kind of innocent compared to getting all nude and doing lap dances. How tough do you really need to be a stripper? Do you need crocodile skin type of armour or is just normal leather ok? Im comfortable nude eg I lke walking around my house nude not caring if neighbours see me but I guess maybe it is a different story when you have to grind someone in a lapdance? I am doing it purely for the money. I wouldnt turn to being a stripper if I got another job.
So I am nervous. Is that an indication that I shouldn't be getting in to it? Or is it just completely normal to be nervous. After all, who is not nervous before a job interview? Do you think it would be something I could do or would stripping break me? Maybe Im making this into a bigger deal than it really is, if so tell me! Actually, that's gonna be my last question: Stripping, how big of a deal is it really?
People talk about strip clubs in a bad way because obviously they don't know anything about it. Stay away from the drugs, dont get too personal with the other dancers this will keep you out of trouble. I've quit dancing because the money is not good as it used to beβ¦you have to talk a lot with the guys , its a lot of "psychological" work. Exotic dancing in canada is not what it used to beβ¦the girls are not as glamourous as it used to be, there a lot of EXTRAS going on, so the clean ladies dont make money like they used tooβ¦.
