From the Renaissance through Impressionism and Expressionism and until today, artists continue to use the basic rectangular frame as a unifying element. Meanwhile, new techniques in architecture and paintings have developed, at first those techniques were accurate with depicting the object, and later they shifted to simplifying it through processes of abstraction. During those processes the rectangular frame kept its shape but changed from wooden frame to LCD screen in nowadays computers, mobiles and projectors.
