The protests are to get rid of his proxies and make sure he and they can never return. For various reasons the military and the Palace do not want to have another coup. So the process will be longer but the result is fore-ordained. Thaksin can't get around the Monarchy. He has lost and is like a dinosaur who is dead but the message has not yet reached his brain.
