It was always a place to find a cheap place to live, cheap booze, drugs, etc. While nearby efforts have been made to gentrify the properties you can't do it all.
First 50 years in Omaha, last 50 in Detroit. Yes, I'm that crazy. I feel like it's gotten worse since 11 Worth Cafe closed. There is a non-profit right there called Together. They help with homeless getting back on their feet.
Inside there is a food pantry to help the homeless. This is one of the reasons why so many hang out in the area. We can have a nice neighborhood and help the homeless at the same time. Their main building is just South of this next to the gas station. I was expecting a more serious tone from the LA reporters, not something to be bright and chummy about.
