Doctors have revealed Americans' biggest bedroom kinks, some of which land thousands in the hospital every year. Experts from telehealth company Hims asked more than 7, Americans about their sex lives and habits they prefer in the bedroom.
As three in four said they wanted to explore different trends, respondents revealed which kinks they were more interested in trying. One of the most popular, and risky, was objectophilia, which involves being sexually attracted to inanimate objects. For many, this means inserting foreign objects into one's anus or vagina to achieve orgasm. Recent research shows that nearly 4, Americans are rushed to the emergency room every year for getting these objects stuck in their rectums - including sex toys like vibrators, others have opted for jars, drugs, and even weaponry and live animals.
Depending on how big or sharp the object is, insertion gone wrong can lead to tears in the rectal wall, infections, and bowel obstructions. Foot fetishes, roleplay and cuckholding - the act of watching one's partner have sex with someone else, also made the list of habits Americans were most curious about. The findings come as the US faces a 'sex recession,' with recent studies suggesting that more than one in three young people haven't had a sexual partner in the last year.
A survey from Hims revealed the most popular sexual kinks in America stock image. Researchers from the University of Rochester, New York, found that men were more likely than women to come to hospital with a foreign object lodged in their rectums.
They suggested, however, that this may be down to reporting bias โ because women were less likely to put non-sexual objects in their rectums, reducing the chances of their case being recorded.
