Dining available but we had box lunches and had a picnic during the stop at far end. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable! Very enjoyable 5 hour trip. Beautiful scenery and informed commentary. The lunch menu rivals any 5 star eatery! The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend this trip. Took a ride on the Mountaineer with our 7 month old puppy.
We rode in coach. There was a lot of history told by the narrator of our train. Found it very interesting. There were lots of scenic vistas to see. I am sure it will be lovely during peak fall foliage time. The people that I spoke with to reserve our tickets were so friendly and full of information that I found very helpful.
If you are taking your dog with you they give you a cute ticket see photos just for them and there is no charge for your dog. We had a wonderful time and our pup was so good.
