Mia de Bethune is an artist and art psychotherapist with a private practice in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. She is also a Somatic Experiencing practitioner with a certificate of expertise in child and adolescent work from the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She holds sessions and trainings online for all three.
She is currently a PhD student in the Lesley University Expressive Arts Therapy Program, where she will do research on the intersection of somatic psychology and art therapy and the changing dynamics of tele-art therapy. Her experience includes work with juvenile sex offenders, severe learning disabilities, sexual and emotional trauma, loss and bereavement for children and families, and support for those at the end of life.
