Thread starter Thread starter jiffy Start date Start date Feb 16, Joined Feb 16, Messages Reaction score 0.
Just wondered if anyone had been on any good roads around the lubbock area? For a change from straight and flat, Slide Rd. Is the traffic circle still there?
I crack me up sometimes. The only bike-worthy road I can think of within a couple hour's ride of Lubbock is the park road leading into Palo Duro Canyon State Park up near Amarillo.
It's got some fun switch-backs as it drops down into the canyon. Another possibility might be to take I up to Tulia, then go east on Hwy 86 to the intersection with Hwy and turn left. You'll need to go about 20 miles or so to get to a section that my Roads of Texas atlas shows to have a few interesting turns for another 10 to 12 miles.
