The story of Oak Park begins with a group of courageous pioneers who left their homes in the Midwest and ventured out into the California wilderness. These settlers, called the Simi Valley pioneers, arrived in and began to establish themselves in this new land. One of the first things they did was to set aside a tract of land for a park. The name Oak Park was chosen because of the abundance of oak trees in the area. The park features miles hiking and biking trails, as well as beautiful scenery and peaceful camping spots.
The campground includes 10 sites with plenty of room for RV and tent camping, as well as several designated hike-in campsites. You can take a short walk to the nearby Iron Horse Trailhead for some rugged mountain biking. If you are looking for a rustic camping experience in the Simi Valley area, Oak Park Campground is a great option. The campground has a network of hiking and biking trails that can be accessed from the campground, making it an excellent place to get active.
