My grandfather's first cousin's name has been corrected on the monument at Cherry. He was Giovanni Galletti, not Garletti. Named one of the Chicago Tribune's favorite books of I only wish this story had as much traction as the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire, because of the historical significance of mining, labor, child labor and mine safety changes which occurred as a direct result of this horrible tragedy.
