The 1st class couchette compartments are more spacious than 2nd class couchettes, not only because they have 4 berths instead of 6, they are slightly larger and have wider berths. Compartment doors have a security deadlock which cannot be opened from outside even with a staff key, and staff are on duty if you need them.
