As senior pastor of The Faith Center Ministries in Sunrise, Florida, a thriving, multi-racial congregation of over 10, members, Fernandez cuts through denominational, cultural, and economic barriers.
An ordained minister of 34 years, Fernandez began his faith journey in when he answered the call of God and moved from Brooklyn, NY to South Florida. Six years later in , along with his wife, Carol, Fernandez founded the Plantation Worship Center now The Faith Center with only 11 members and began holding services in a local elementary school cafeteria. In , the church purchased a shopping plaza in Lauderhill, Florida as the need for more space became evident. In , as the congregation continued to grow, the church purchased the former Sunrise Musical Theater in Sunrise, Florida.
Acknowledging the call to empower people to live a lifestyle of faith every day, and embracing its mission of reaching the world for Jesus, the ministry soon changed its name to The Faith Center Ministries and embarked on a worldwide outreach. Prior to entering the ministry, Fernandez had enjoyed a successful career in the travel industry. He also developed his business and financial acumen while spending time in the corporate arena—skills he now applies when teaching Bible principles regarding finances to the Body of Christ.
With a desire to exercise the gifts and talents God has bestowed upon him, and in an effort to equip people to discover their God-given purpose, Fernandez has recently embarked on a new adventure involving playwriting and producing.
